Practice the Culture of Appreciation

Do you feel appreciated?

In today's society where we value the individuality of a person, are we really showing genuine appreciation? Their talents, skills, and intellectual capacity are merely part and parcel of our identity and yet that's where we still base how we perceive them. And that means that we are putting people up against society's standards.

Being able to fully celebrate others is a form of full self-confidence. It expresses itself as support to other people. And I believe that it is about time that we change how we accept people. It is time to appreciate individuals for who they are.

A lot of us do not feel like we have real value. There are so many things that cause a lot of people to put little worth on what they do. Don't be a victim of this way of thinking. Believe more in yourself and what you can do. This is the first step to learning how to accept others: learn to appreciate yourself for who you are and how you are designed.

Remember this: You are valuable. You are worth it. You have to fill yourself before you can give away.

Here are three tips on how you can improve your appreciation:

1. List at least three things you are grateful for.

It's good to be thankful for what we already have. The bonus is we attract more good things as we develop an #attitudeofgratitude. Use descriptive words as you express yourself.

You may also try this one out. As you wake up every morning, allot some time to just sit on your bed and think of the things you are grateful for today. That way you are affirming yourself that more good things are coming your way. It also helps set you to a better mood.

Do you have any other practices that you do get yourself in a good mood every morning?

2. Give a compliment.

As you develop a positive view of yourself, try to be generous with your kind words.

We all have already had enough of hatred, lies, and cynicism. It's freely given, and surprisingly easily taken. So let's #fightback! Let your beautiful lips flow with sincere praises for everyone!

As we often hear, be the change that you want to see. We might need to embrace a more gracious culture that doesn't see thing flaws first. So we have to embody the change so that it doesn't remain a mere idealism. We can do it.

Start within your circle. Even behind your friends' back, utter praises about them. That way, we promote a culture of appreciation.

3. Manifest the good you want to see.

Starting within makes the process smoother and more enjoyable. Don't wait for others to act on it. Let the fire of your passion ignite the flame in others as well. Never let your purpose out of your head, and let it lead you to change lives one person at a time. Be the person who kindles #confidence in everyone.

If we want change, why not begin within ourselves. Goodness and kindness is attractive. Soon enough more and more people will have the courage to speak out more kind and good words to each other that we drown the negativities.

It is also important to remember that we need to be gentle as we rebuke people of their wrongs, and then we must call for their accountability. We need actions to change. Fight for the the good fight.
